Great see this old camera tonight. I'm not sure what year George Purdy Turnbull (Grandad) bought it but it's a world away from the camera used to capture this.
I used this when I was at school for a geography project (circa 89).
Brother (Science) and I are looking forward to chance to get some film in there and see what results we can produce.

A chief engineer in the merchant navy who had a squirrel monkey that lived in his boiler suit, could speak fluent (jibberish) chinese, a pipe smoking, gin drinker with tales of torpedos, stuka dive-bombers, mutinous ship's cooks wielding cleavers and jumping overboard to meet their maker all add up fond memories of a great man.

A lovely object with a real story to tell....
