Chainsaw art

With H away, I took myself off to the local Farmers Food and the Forest Fair. Good food - cheese, sausages, lamb, eggs, salmon. Lots of tastings and I came away with my usual, unrealistic, yearnings for the simple life.

The Forest Fair was good. Outside, on the green, among other demonstrations, an eagle was being sculpted from a chunk of tree, with a chain saw, and it looked impressive. The hall was full of stalls with people who worked in wood. I love the look and feel of wood.

I came away with a clock set in a piece of smooth polished oak - a present for our new house - and a log basket (we've been intending to get one).
