Fly by

A very exciting day indeed - F had his maiden voyage on the folding kayak! We hired a car and drove down to Sandgate, which is a really lovely seaside village with a pebbly, quiet beach. I sat myself down, read the paper with a flask of tea and some hobnobs (I think a pattern is emerging this weekend), and kept an eye on Fred in case he didn't manage to get the hang of things. But of course he was fine, and had a great time paddling up and down the beach. We think we're going to visit this stretch of coast quite a lot this year.

There were flowers in bloom everywhere, and growing wild, too. I took a picture of this daisy (sea aster?) and then realised that a green bottle had landed just at the right moment! Bonus.
