Waiting for a catch
Street photography isn't that far apart from fishing. There are a lot similarities, at least. First you check your gear and the weather. Then you decide what tools you need at the specific location. After all is set you just pretty much sit back and wait for the magic to happen, be it a fish or a parcel of time being caught.
In the picture above, the fishermen are doing their thing in the middle of Helsinki next to the Courthouse, in Ruoholahti. There's something intriguing in old men, sea and fishing rods that fascinate me. Last time I blipped a fisherman was on Thursday 13th, not even two weeks ago. Maybe a subject for personal photography project?
Took a film of 36 exposures to a lab a moment ago. Can't wait to fill those gaps in my journal last week. Even might replace today's entry with a frame of an elderly woman trying desperately to cross the street. I shot the scene first and then helped her across. Should make a striking urban image if the focus was tack sharp. Talk about magic of street photography, eh!
