New York Fireman

I walked down to Greenwich Village for lunch with an old FT colleague, Sarah Murray who has just written a book about death. I didn't have a ticket for the Twin Towers memorial but I passed some firemen around 14th street, just packing up after attending a fire.

I called in on the Wall Street protests - interesting. A lot of people gathered together focusing their anger on the bankers. Just across the road they're rebuilding after 9/11. Meanwhile Fireman Choy here and his colleagues just get on with their jobs. On 9/11 they didn't protest, they just did what they had to do and too many paid the ultimate price.
