The Tallest Building in...
As I was leaving Edinburgh today, I stopped to do a wee picture of St Mary's along Melville Street. I just did a quick over the shoulder effort. As I returned my attention to the traffic lights at which I was stopped, random Edinburgh pedestrian man told me that it was the tallest building in Edinburgh. That statement spurred me into getting a properly centred picture of it. I'm glad I did as it came out rather nice.
I usually consider myself a pretty observant person. I usually take heed of cues and work out things happening around me to conclude a rough idea of where events are headed. Today that fell completely by the wayside in dramatic fashion. I couldn't find my work security badge but reasoned with myself that it's okay, I'll just sort out a daily temp pass when I get there no problems. It was indeed no problem as I picked up the temporary pass. It was only as got my bike locked up, got into the building and walked through the door to the changing rooms that it struck me that my trousers were locked in my locker with a key that was on my work security badge. Dictionary definition DOH!!!
In slightly related news. I managed a personal best for the cycle home despite the wind. Door to door, 48.27 minutes and it looks like the re-adjustment of the cycle computer from yesterday is giving a much more accurate distance record of the journey.
