Since EPF didnt happen last week i have been literally inundated with calls, emails, letters and postcard from around the free world requesting information on its return.
Well who knows what the future holds but for now I bring you IPM.

How to photograph a moving black dog backlit with strong sunlight using a DSLR
potential problems
1) Dog is moving - may be motion blurry in final image
2) Dog is black - may be underexposed
3) Sun is in shot - non sky will be underexposed
4) dog is moving possibly too fast to focus track
5) dog is moving possibly too fast to capture in the frame
Solutions
1) select fast shutter
2) select some + exposure compensation
3)select some more + exposure compensation
4) pre focus on bench
5) use burst mode or continuous shooting
I used M (manual) mode and took this shot at 1 .33 over the indicated correct exposure.
To help the 'cheap' camera out a bit as far as frames per second goes, I opted to shoot low resolution Jpegs rather than larger JPEGS or RAW files
(I should also point out that it helps enormously to have a dog who will sit still behind the bench until you are ready to shoot, then will leap over it with a brief command)
