...making their last hurrah

before a winter storm hits mid-week...

glorious in color - vivid in hue... somehow it seems as though this last week the trees and bushes around the city have been rather extraordinary in showing off their vast array of fall splendor... it's been quite remarkable to watch the sudden erruption of boldness take place. perhaps nature is quite aware that the weather is going to turn - and they'd better hurry to display a final showing... like the last big blast of a fireworks program - where all you can do is go "ooh" and "ahh" for the glory of it all...

it's difficult not to soak it in... for what comes next is the landscape of winter - bare trees lifted to the skies... brown grasses waiting for snow to pretty them up... winter can be beautiful, although some will call it dreary - a stark contrast to the colors of autumn.

for now... gold is the color of choice - rich - infused with lushness... making
