Major Oak
This gnarled old oak tree is fabled to be the dwelling of Robin Hood. It is believed to be 1000 years old and the branches are supported by steel supports as they are massive. We visited it today at the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre and had a lovely walk through the woods. They wouldn't let us through the fence to see if there was any of RH's treasure lying around.
As you can see, apart from a hefty breeze, the weather is still holding out for us.
The only trouble with the light is that I have struggled to get the shot looking anything other than dull or a bit over-saturated. As the latter was more like the original lighting conditions I have stayed with the in-your-face saturation.
