Cliches and Friendship
I really don't like this photo. It's such an autumn cliche. A pile of freakin' pumpkins. But I guess orange is cheerful. And it fills the screen.
Why am I so ratty? It's because I had a lovely evening with a friend (Emma, 23 years younger than me - I used to be her line manager in a previous life) catching up, putting the world to rights, talking about how to build bridges between friends we think we may have lost along the way.
Recently I thought we had lost each other but thankfully we have not. I am still the Ox (short for Oracle) and she is still Grasshopper - it's a private joke we had when we worked together based on how we learn from each other.
We met in Take5, that magical bar that is much more than just a bar. It's where dreams are dreamed, plans are planned, and no matter how long ago since you were last there you are still remembered.
As usual, I had my camera with me and we played with it a bit. She, a little bit drunk, took a lovely photo of David, a lovely guy who works at Take5.
I, a little bit drunk, came home and started sorting through the pics I took today and inadvertently deleted the photo that Emma took of David. And that's why I'm a bit ratty.
I took a fabulous photo of David earlier this summer at the seaside. He wants a copy to send to his nephew.
