Coat of Arms
A bronze coat of arms that is a copy of a stone carving built into Golfer's Land on the Royal Mile. So called because it was built in the 17th Century by Bailie John Paterson the golfer, who paid for the dwelling with his share of the stakes from a golf match he won when playing with the Duke of York (later James VII) against two English noblemen - must have been high stakes (and confident golfers) in those days!
