Welcome to Byron Bay

Not as many hippies as I thought but after a 8hrs bus journey from Noosa, via Brisbane, we were really pleased to arrive in Byron Bay. Coincidentally the Queen was in Brisbane at the same time as us so we sat and had lunch on a bridge and peered from a distance at a blob which may have been her.

In Byron Bay a quick walk down the beach confirmed that the surf is good here so we'll see what tomorrow holds. Have decided to treat ourselves to dinner out because dorm rooms and shared kitchens can get a bit much sometimes!
