We have been spared!
Despite the dire predictions and flood warnings, Edinburgh has escaped the rain, although not the damp and gloom.

I think it's probably the kind of weather that drives our hair straightening sisters mad with frustration as their ringlets appear in tune with the dampness: not a problem that affects my unfortunate locks.

This blip was taken as I made my way into the station to renew my Railcard- a performance in itself as the online procedure leaves one tearing hair out in frustration; quicker to walk into town and interact with a human.

On the way home I passed the protesting tented community in St Andrew Square.
I do wonder how many of the tents are occupied during the day.
I read that in the vicinity of St Paul's in London, most of the protesters vacate their tents during the night to go home to look after their families.
I suspect that some of the Edinburgh contingent go to work during the day- there didn't seem the correct number of people standing around, for the number of tents.

I also passed a restaurant/ café in George Street garlanded down its imposing Doric columns with Christmas decorations. Now that is definitely a statement that it isn't easy to ignore, try as I might.
