It's a bugs life

Actually went out to listen out for bird song. Ended up blipping a bug (to be identified later when I have my books handy).

I got given a box set of audio cd's containing British Bird song for my birthday. Always wanted to be able to identify them by their various chirpings.

Managed to identify a couple at lunch. The easiest was the Lapwing which is one I actually knew already.

Such a great geeky present for someone like me ;)
