Backyard Canal

I'm currently working on a project in the town of Marple, which sits between the metropolis that is Stockport and the countryside haven that is Derbyshire and the Peak District. I love finishing work early enough here to get a run out into the hills...

Alas the short days mean that post work fellrunning is very unlikely so i;ve started having a closer look at Marple, which is a lovely little town. The canal has 12 sets of locks over a mile, lifting boats over 200 feet from the Goyt Valley into Marple. Here, the canal runs right past some backyards and makes for a peaceful scene, esp with some lovely autumn clouds - friends of any photographer :-)
