A (very) liberal translation of what he's reading:

"The greatest beauty of a landscape is it's colors and light.
Fine light, fine colors makes you smell the landscape.
You can paint a human as a landscape. A humanscape. A landscape may represent an enormous amount of thoughts and spirits, solemnity, joy, despair and hatred."

And so on. They were totally focused. Never underestimate an IT engineer's skills to get the children interested and acquainted in art ;)

(It's a kids story book of one painting and the direct citations of the painter's diary are the only source of the narrative, a rhino representing the painter. )
