Following in Wilbert's Footsteps

The Rev'd (Wilbert) Awdry would have been 100 this year. Not as old as this engine, built in 1865 and immortalised in his book 'Little Old Engine'.

When you get up close and personal steam turns a collection of metal parts into a living, breathing thing.

My parents brought their five children here for a visit in 1970 and in '71, '72, '73 ....... and now I bring my wife and kids here. It's that kind of timeless place.

Don't go getting ideas though, if you all come it would spoil it!
