Day forty: darkness and spots ahead
On Saturday, I got a text from a friend asking me if I could let out his dog. I love dogs and this friend, so I happily went over to help both out.
The road to their house is off a gravel road a bit out of town. I miss the turn off EVERY time I go out there. Saturday night was no exception.
There are no street lights, just the stars and my headlights, out on this gravel road. In all honestly, it was a touch creepy at 10 PM.
As I was returning to the highway, I stopped and reflected on how little I could see ahead. I just had some faith that I was heading in the right direction. If I wasn't, which did happen, all I needed to do was retrace my steps and get back on the right track. This made me smile, so I wanted to take a shot of it.
After I took the shot I saw all these spots on the photo. So I cleaned my lens and snapped a few more. Same spots!
I was confused until I looked ahead and saw with my eyes what my lens had captured: dust from the gravel road.
Again, this made me smile. So many things that are right before us that we don't even see.
