The journey continues...

Wine and bikes should not be mixed!

First day in Mendoza begins well :) Everyone seemed to have completely conked out for the most part of the 14 hour journey and with 2 hours left we even stopped in at a hostel for some much needed coffee and medialunas. To top it all off the sun was out and we woke to a cloudless blue sky!
After arriving at the bus station we realised that none of us actually knew the address of where we will be staying ha! Thankfully a guy from the hostel appeared and sorted us out with taxis. When we arrived Andy was waiting in the common room without even knowing that we were staying in the same hostel as her. We decided that bike rental and winery tours would be perfect on such a good day!
We set off around lunch time and I joked about stopping for lunch at the 'Mr Dog' restaurant which actually ended up serving a pretty tasty choripan and we even made a reappearance there! We got a bus to Mr Hugo's to rent bikes after a recommendation from Clair because he gives you "as much wine as you can drink" and we received a very warm welcome along with a large jug of wine woo! He gave us a map of the winerys and some recommendations, although we only ended up having time to visit Trapiche (the oldest winery) and the beer garden for some empanadas! Cycling alongside Argentinian traffic probably isn't the smartest idea with various wines in the system; needless to say a few of us had some close encounters with the cars.
BBQ party later!!
