Near The End

It won't be long before the court at Bingley closes and all business is transferred to Bradford. Witnesses, defendants and others will have to travel from as far away as Oxenhope, Silsden etc into Bradford. Local justice used to be all the rage but those days are gone in the search for 'efficiencies'.

The shot is the view from the bench towards the area behind glass where defendant in custody appear. Taken at lunchtime, there's no one there obviously.

It will be a loss to the community when the court closes and I've no doubt the effects were not taken into account as part of the review. Lots of local businesses will be effected too. The Bean Counters run the service (and so many others); I'm sure they put a convincing case together though.
