Mirror memories 2

Mirror memories 1 (Mirror, mirror) was a blip I took just about a year ago when I was reflecting on childhood memories with my mother's brass mirror.

Opposite the shell edged mirror in my mother's home was this carved mahogany one which now hangs in my downstairs loo.

This is a very special hand carved mirror surround made by my grandfather as one of his apprentice pieces when he was training to be a stone mason.

It is very suitably placed as in order to afford a good piece of wood for this project, he took the lid from the earth closet (the family outside toilet) which is what most people had in those days!!
