The Camels Are Coming!

The Memorial, in Victoria Embankment Gardens, to the British, Australian, New Zealand & Indian troops of the Imperial Camel Corps, who lost their lives in the Sinai & Palestine campaigns of World War I.
(It's better in real life!)
Going to war must be frightening enough, without being a sitting target on top of a large, unpredictable animal! Maybe that's why the Corps was disbanded in 1919.

The title is one for anybody who, like me, was a childhood Biggles fan. Who could forget that classic book, and others such as "Biggles Flies East", "Biggles Flies Again", and of course "Biggles Flies Undone"...
Incidentally, author Capt. W.E. Johns, although genuinely a WWI pilot, was a "Flying Officer" but promoted himself for the purposes of publication because it sounded better!
Yours etc.
