Through Jo's Lens

Should've Gone To...

Day off today so it was nice to chill instead of rushing around like maniacs in the morning. The boys needed shoes/clothes....I wish I didn't always have to buy them things at the same time but that's the way it seems to go these days. We had a mooch around the pound shop. Lewis informed me that it only sells rubbish....I informed him that people like to buy rubbish! Jed bought a cap gun which looked like it would fall apart after a second but it is still in working order. Good job we have a gun dog who doesn't blink an eye at gun shots because this gun is LOUD and SMOKEY...looks a bit lethal but Jed's fingers still seem to be intact. He also bought these glasses....good choice in my opinion! Rowan picked up a gun, a squishy tube thing and a packet of jam tarts! The tarts looked really cheap (!) and, sure enough, they tasted vile....so bad that we threw them in the bin. I knew Hovis would pinch them out of the kitchen bin so I even saved him from the vile tarts by putting them into the wheelie bin! Lewis bought a can of pop, he wasn't buying any old tat!

I have spent hours searching the web today to arrange a London trip for myself and my friend, Kath. First I had to find tickets for War Horse....sold out until 2054 don't you know! Managed to find two tickets on a fairly respectable site, only costing slightly more than they would've cost from the theatre (had they had any). Good stuff. Then to get travel to and fro old London town. We could travel to Italy and back for less, seriously! Managed to find cheap tickets down to London but getting home would be almost impossible by train....so we are going down by train (£11.50 each no less...super bargain!) and travelling back by coach (£23 each)....which will take almost 5 hours but better that than spending five times more in costs and still having to wait in Nottingham for six hours for a connecting train. I am very excited about seeing War Horse though as it has excellent reviews.

Last night I finished reading "The Midwife's Confession" ...great read but disappointed with the ending which seemed rushed....and now I am reading "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. I have also made a start on knitting a scarf. Miracles do happen!!

Another miracle is that this is my 300th blip. Amazing.
