We don't know what it is

There's a load of these in our front and back garden - huge long stems, then a globe of long 'spikes' with little green budded flowers with purple petals. In full bloom they just look like a bunch of purple balloons floating in the garden, and ironically, when they start to die off, they become even more fascinating because you start to see varying mixes of the green buds that remain after the petals die - green and purple is a great mix!!!!

Am shattered - very busy day (very productive which was great) but my hand is really hurting today - got worse as the day progressed. Add stomach ache and a bad night's sleep last night and its making for a very grumpy mummy! Hot water bottle and bed. Night night
