Secret garden

I live on an estate with about four acres of common land, woodland and grass. It's the grounds of an old school. We live on a hill, an escarpment, with houses at the bottom and the top, but not on the slope - that's the woodland. Behind a thicket of trees we have what we call the secret garden. It's an area of lawn cut off from the rest of the hill. Hardly anyone goes there but I take the dogs for walks among the trees. This morning the sun was streaming through the branches and life felt good. Back to the desk and writing now.
