Republic day.

Tomorrow is the official Republic day in Turkey, but today was a half holiday in honour of that day. There was due to be a large festive ceremony in Bodrum tomorrow, with the school children marching through the streets, but this has been cancelled in respect of the earthquake victims in Van. I heard today that many of the lorries transporting aid to the victims have been raided along the way. I also heard that some sick minded people have sent bags of building rubble, pretending to be supplies.
