An Old Airman's Life

Chipotle Portobello Mushroom Sandwich & more S

Fall finally arrived. We were supposed to have gotten a lot of rain, but only received a few sprinkles. But we did get a drastic drop in temperatures. Wonderful, brisk evening that will lead to an even better morning. I never tire of cold weather. Well, that probably isn't totally true. There will be mornings when I don't want to go out and walk the dogs, but once I am out, I am glad it is cold.

The tavern in our building decided to serve food beginning November 1st. To give their staff a trial run, they gave food away before game six of the World Series. As a vegetarian, the only thing I could eat was a Chipotle Portobello Mushroom Sandwich. Very good. My wife hates veggies and mushrooms and mayo and cheese so she ate the BBQ Brisket Sliders. Not sure why "sliders" have become so popular. Maybe because there is so much bread and meat and so little other stuff.

And mentioning the World Series, we had a good time watching the game. Our local team blew several leads and finally lost the game in extra innings. Oh well. They have another chance tonight. I would like to see Texas win, but St. Louis seems to have a good team with some good players. Either way, I think that life will go on pretty much as it has before.
