Working Karaoke

It is quite a misconception that running a karaoke is an easy job. Granted, if you have a residency it can be the easiest job in the world - you turn up and everyone else does the work.
However, when you are travelling from venue to venue, the equipment becomes very heavy, the abuse gets worse and worse, AND you have to spend many hours cutting up silly little request slips.
It would seem pointless to use them as no-one gives you their real name and then forget what they've called themselves while you're trying to call them up! Plus, they can't remember the name of a song OR the artist that did it, so they try to hum it to you.
On the plus side. we do make some nice friends and we do get paid for having a social life.
