Odd Juxtaposition
Up through Doune today on the way home from Callander. Took the opportunity to stop and take this photo of a street name-plate.
I have always had an interest in old weaponry and have known about the "Doune" pistols for many years. Quite distinctive by way of their usually being all steel and the unusual shape of the butt. The other claim to fame is that it was, alledgedly, a Douneside pistol which fired the "shot heard around the world", at the start of the American revolution.
I just found the two signs, one above the other, to be rather bizarre partners.
