Trattoria de gli amici in Trastevere, Rome is staffed by a mixture of people with disabilities, mental or physical, and volunteer professionals.

The trattoria is managed by the Community of St'Egidio, known for their work with poor in the streets, people with disabilities and service for peace. Some members of the community were facilitators or mediators in Mozambique and in Guatemala, there where the fratricidal conflict lasted more than 30 years. In Mozambique St'Egidio was in key role in ending the civil war.
