Entry 460 - Name badge

We were issued with out uniforms and name badges the other day. However, they put the wrong name on mine. I have never known the simple thing of going by your second name cause so much hassle in my life!

When I signed up to King's I enquired about having my second name (Richard) as my official name for my ID badge, email adresses and registers etc. The guy who enrolled me said that I could only have my full "official name".

A couple of weeks later, the head of my programme informed me that I could have any name I wanted in the "known" as field. I sent an email off to ask about this reguarding my name badge that I just found out they were producing. That email was ignored and when I went to collect my uniform, this is the badge they gave me.

Lets just say a very unpleasant (and I have to say unprofessional) conversation took place where the university accused me of being rude, agressive and out of order to expect them to pay for my mistakes.

It amazes me how a "world class" university can find such a simple task so difficult and treat its students with such disregard. I will of course be bringing this up with my personal academic tutor when I see them next week.

In the mean time I have had to pay £5 for a new badge as they won't let me just stick a bit of a label over the George.
