Hot Water Beach to Waitomo

You go to Waitomo for the glow-worm caves. There is a massive subterranean network of caves that lie 1,026m below the ground.....Ben Nevis is 1,344 m high just to put that into perspective!

Decided to go for the most extreme caving tour...The Black Abyss.
*A 38m abseil through a tiny hole into the forest floor into the pitch black cave.
*A flying-fox zip-wire in the pitch black taking you deeper into the cave system.
*Jumping into the black water in an inner-tube, lying back as you wiggle upstream looking at the galaxies of glow-worms.
*Canyoning by torchlight, waist deep in the murky water.
*The final assent made by climbing up through a water spout.

After that adrenaline filled evening we felt like we deserved a glass or two of NZ 'Sav'.
