Haul

Our newest dog, Jonty, has been with us for a tad over two weeks. In that time he has grown in confidence from the poor beaten boy that arrived.

Today we took him for his first proper walk with the other two. It wasn't planned, but when Kit and Flynn lined up to have their harnesses put on Jonty joined them. Previously he's run off and I've played ball with him at home, but he obviously wanted to be one of the gang today.

He popped up into the car very nicely and made no fuss on the journey to our vineyard. Ali and I were somewhat hauled around as he is young, full of beans, untrained and eager to follow where the others went. However, the fact that he was desperate to be with them augurs well for the future, when we hope he'll be able to be off his lead.

It's been a hot autumn day, with the vineyards looking splendid in their different colours. Here's to many more - with all the dogs at last.
