A load of Bull :-)

By EdieBeth

On a Girly weekend in Derbyshire and as well as drinking copious amounts of alcohol and relaxing in spas - we like to get out and about and take in the local sights.

So spent the day at Chatsworth House. What a stunning place. I don't really 'do' stately homes but this place is amazing. The gardens were stunning with all the autumnal colours and we spent a frustrating time getting seriously lost in the maze! A lot of fun though and you make new friends very quickly as you meet them again and again and again! We never found the centre though and abandoned our quest in favour of coffee and cake :-)

There was a Sothebys sculpture exhibition in the grounds which although I don't really get this modern art stuff and am not one of these people who will spout on about understanding 'where the artist is coming from' (I'd rather just be honest and look bemused!) - it was fascinating stuff. We just kept coming across some really diverse creations in the middle of the woods and gardens. This is supposed to be a frog eating a fly. I'm sorry - I just don't see it. I have my own view of what it looks like and I'm not saying - although plenty of others stood around clearly thought the same as me! It made for very amusing discussions though!

So then back to the hotel and raced to the spa before the coach load who beat us back had time to grab their swimwear and had the facilities to ourselves. Then out for a curry and more wine. :-)

Got rudely awoken this morning by my friends alarm set for 8 - it was 6am :-(. No Tracey - we put the clocks back - not forward. Oh how we laughed! Not! A lovely break though and a lovely welcome home with home made lasagne lovingly prepared by hubby.

Must do this more often methinks :-)
