Loft stairs
If you turn your head 45 degrees to the right, you'll see what I see when I walk out of the bedroom I'm occupying at my dad's house. These stairs lead to the loft.
10 years ago, when this place was being built, the original plan was for me to take the loft while my sister and brother took the two bedrooms downstairs. For some reason, we never followed through with the plan, and I ended up living in the basement for about a year or two before moving back to my mom's.
In the loft, there's a door that leads to the roof deck. I went up there and climbed up to the top of the roof and photographed the town in all its glory. See the huge red building on the left? It's a 6-story condo building my dad designed & built a few years ago.
The town was a hellhole before my dad and his business partner came along and renovated many buildings here. Now it's decent and property values have risen (before the housing market jumped the shark, anyway.) It's a nice little town, but I still see hoodlums lurking around at night. It's not as bad as Chicago, though. Oh, how I miss the city...
