Tomorrowland

There's this hill overlooking Bjørvika and the Eastern end of the Oslofjord that I've had my eye on for some time. Spurred on by this blog and surprisingly warm weather (meanwhile, it snowed back in New York) I set about finding how to get up to the top today.

The views of the city were spectacular, and the weather was fully cooporating; dark blue rainclouds swept over the city, but never actually rained, which made everything seem much more dramatic. Then there were stretches of brilliant blue sky and white fluffy clouds. The sun is so low in the sky now that Oslo gets several hours of really wonderful horizontal light coming over the fjord, which makes a vantage point like this even more impressive.

The binoculars in this shot wouldn't stay in this position, they kept flopping down, so a friend held them in place while I readied the camera, and the moment he let go I took the picture.
