Snow bath
Welcome to winter! Yesterday's storm left us with about 10 inches of wet, heavy snow. We set an all time record for snowfall in October, the prior record being about 1 1/2 inches!
We didn't lose power although about 30,000 in our area did; however the Internet has been out all day. I am going to try this via the iPad, using a rather sketchy 3G network, which has been intermittent today. Willie is flying home from Alabama today and is currently stuck in Chicago with a delay. Will be glad when he finally gets home.
Lots of birds here today, so I've been enjoying the entertainment. This little guy is a white-throated sparrow and he was having a little snow bath when I snapped this. Haven't seen this particular species before, so guessing the feeders brought him in during the storm. It has been a very busy couple of days at Chez Bifulco Bird Bistro!
Once I've got my proper connection back, I'll catch up on everyone's journals. In the meantime, thanks for the lovely comments and faves on yesterday's little goldfinch.
Stay warm! And if you are in another part of the world where it is now spring, would you post some pictures of warm weather and spring flowers...please!
