Thirsty work
getting ready for school, coordinating an increasingly hectic social life and finding some time to snuggle on the sofa. And that's just James!
The half term holiday, for Jimbo at least, has flown by and tomorrow he is back to school. He has done all of his homework and has impressed me with the effort he has put into it as well. He has set himself some targets for this half term as well and we have had a long talk about all of the things that he wants to do in the next few months - drama club included, as apparently, drama is now his favourite lesson (I think it has something to do with not having to do any writing and also that they can loosen their ties and untuck their shirts!).
For me, still two days to go. Tomorrow I will walk through to school with James then will come home and do a couple more hours of work whilst drinking plenty of water - at least two pints an hour before the trip to the hospital. I'm hoping that if I am organised, I'll have got all of my work done by lunchtime so that the rest of the afternoon and all of Tuesday can be time for me to just crash and burn.
This morning was not a good morning on the pain scale - at one point, with James upstairs and Corin in the kitchen, I doubled over and found myself clutching onto the desk, hurting too much to even yelp for help. It passed soon enough but some gas and air wouldn't have gone amiss in that moment.
I had to make a decision - whether to sit on the sofa and sulk, with hot water bottles and blanket, or whether to push on through it. I did the latter - not wanting to give in.
So Hebs has been busy busy busy again but I am going to bed shortly, knowing that almost everything that I could have done today was done. James has a mountain of clean, soft blankets; everywhere is clean and tidy; the painting that James coveted so much has been sealed and hung in his room; lizard has had his tank cleaned, despite his being completely awkward and refusing to come out of the tank - had to clean up around him which was quite comedic when he started attacking the brush I was using; the boys have been treated to a full roast dinner and I managed to whip up quite a tasty batch of cupcakes for pudding too.
I'm whacked now :-)
Night night everyone
