My pumpkin

Every year we buy pumpkins from a church in our town that sets up a patch on a sloping hill behind the church. The setting is lovely and on most autumn afternoons, there are families walking amongst pumpkins of all sizes and shapes, seeing which ones are the right ones for them.

This year I broke the mold and chose a variegated type, which I bought partially because I liked the coloring, and because I thought no one else might want it, sitting apart from the others. I am happy I adopted it.
