Back in Northwest Colorado
A weekend trip to NW Colorado to put the garden to bed and write a big paper and prepare several talks for an upcoming trip.
Looking at the Park Range with a dusting of snow.
I'll let you in on a little secret. When storms bring lots of snow to Denver (like last Wed's 8 inches ) it rarley snows heavily on the west side of the Divide. Upslopes on the east slope of the mountains drop all their mositure on the east side of the Divide. if Steamboat Springs gets hammered Denver rarely sees a flake, it all falls on the mountains and the down sloping winds off the mounatians are dry, leaving Denver basking in the sun.
