Spooked.
I well and truly freaked myself out this morning. After dropping Bella off at school I decided I needed to pay a quick visit to my favourite spot up on the hills, it was drizzly but us Cornish maids are bred tough so I put my hood up, head down and battled my way through the wind. I reached my beloved spot, looked around and had a major 'oh shit' moment. Everything had disappeared under a blanket of fog, the whiteness made me hallucinate, the lumps of granite in the distance looked like monsters, I could barely make out the path (and as it's riddled with open mine shafts it's not a good idea to stray far from the path!!), as I couldn't see further than a few feet in front of me I wouldn't have noticed any axe wielding maniacs until they were on top of me and nobody would have heard my screams above the wind!!! So I did what anyone would do in this situation and took a few photos. As I was looking through the lens I saw a red light (like a lazer) flash somewhere in front of me. I have no idea what it was but my mind was telling me the light was from either a pervert's camera or a mad man's gun. Either way, I was doomed. I slowly shook and jibbered my way back to the main path, telling myself that if I couldn't see the maniac through the mist, they wouldn't be able to see me. Eventually the path widened, the mist eased and I calmed down a bit so I stopped to take this shot. The spot this shot was taken from actually has an incredible view, under all that grey stuff there's acres of moorland, enormous granite formations, the sea and even a lighthouse!
Even though I'm only a few birthdays away from beginning with 4, my poor mum still despairs of me wandering around on my own in isolated places, now I think I can see why!!!
(and please ignore the smeary sky, I have since cleaned my lens!!!)
