A late trip to the pumpkin patch

Well we wont make that mistake again. Usually we go to the pumpkin patch the first couple weeks in October but our schedule has been so busy this season that today was the first available day we've had. YIKES..what a mess. The weather was horrible and it poured down rain on us the entire time. There were maybe five other cars at the patch which is normally very popular. I'm convinced it's because we just waited too long in the season but it may have also just been bad luck. We still had fun and despite all the activities being closed down because of the rain we still walked around, ate fresh pumpkin donuts and found a few great pumpkins. When we came home we spent the afternoon carving them and making roasted pumpkin seeds. This was the first year that BOTH boys carved the pumpkins completely on their own. While in a way it was nice, it was also sad to realize how independant they have become.
