Hampton Court Palace

Fabulous, I love the place.

I love that there are so many periods of history represented, and while they overlap, later additions haven't destroyed the earlier architecture. The Tudor buildings are so well preserved, it's hard to believe they date back almost 500 years.

Interestingly the lands originally belonged to the Knights Hospitallers, who granted a 99 year lease to the then Archbishop Wolsey in 1514 - a nice tie in to my visit on Friday.
