Passive Killer

This is a picture of a Nepenthes I look after. All sorts of insects get attracted to the narcotic, sweet sugar solution around the rim and fall into the pitcher and drown.

They decompose down into a slimy solution and are absorbed into the plant.

This is how the plant gets its nutrients.
