Candle Power

Well, we had a power-cut. For a whole hour. We were nearly forced to talk to each other it was that long!

It's the second one this year. I know people have them all the time in other parts of the UK, usually because of the weather, but London doesn't have them all that often.

I remember the power cuts of the early 1970s. My first date with my first girlfriend coincided with one. I'd like to say it played into my hands but as a shy young thing of only 15 I was way too shy to take advantage. Unfortunately, so was she.
