The sheep sales
This morning we took some of our lambs to the sheep sales in Longtown. Eventually we'd like sell all our lamb directly to consumers but haven't yet got enough customers.
While at the sales we had a look round some of the other sheep being sold and this pen of Herdwick lambs caught my eye. The farmer selling them told me that it was the first time they'd been down to sea-level, having lived so far a few thousand feet up one of the Lakeland fells.
