Oak Pond

I blipped Oak Pond earlier this season when the colors were rich and vibrant. Today most of the leaves have fallen, and the colors are more muted, but beautiful nonetheless. I wonder what it will look like in winter?

Today has been a difficult day for me. The daughter of a good friend died suddenly of a stroke at the age of 41. The oldest member of our church, a dear woman, still vital and able to live on her own at 94, had a stroke recently and suddenly has lost her memory and with it, her ability to continue living alone in her condo. And my sister is having surgery for suspected ovarian cancer. I am waiting for her daughter to call with the results of the surgery. The peace and beauty of the Arboretum was balm for my spirits today.
