SLATED

Now I don't have a huge appetite, but this is quite possibly the smallest starter ever offered. Brie and walnut salad. Absolutely delicious but a rather more generous portion of Brie would have been welcome. The walnuts are hidden round the back. G had Queen scallops, two shells full of them. Loads!

There is no point going out to dine on G's birthday, as everywhere seems to have a Halloween theme complete with screaming adorable and excited children, so instead we went to a local inn tonight, well known for its excellent food. G's birthday seems to have become an extended celebration. And a chap from the TV who does a home restoration programme was at the next table but I'm not sure who it was.
