November Butterfly

Wow. 1st Nov and the butterflies are still out. It was that warm in the sunny corner of the walled garden on the park at lunchtime that the flowering ivy was festoon with Red Admirals no doubt conned prematurely out of hibernation. Ivy is a much maligned plant many of us see it as a weed that strangles trees which is far from the truth because it can harbour all sorts of over wintering inverts.
