Siren

If you take a photograph of an oil painting is it a photograph or a painting or a combination of the two? If you then painted a picture of that photograph what would you have done? And if you repeated the process every day for a year, how would the end product compare to the original? If I took a photograph of myself and then you painted it and then passed it on to another person who photographed it....and so on...how long before you would not recognise yourself? I think I need to lie down....
